The UNC Board of Governors established the Center for Design Innovation in 2005. University and community collaborators in Winston-Salem and North Carolina's Piedmont region have worked to articulate the center's mission and goals, now reflected throughout this website.

We continually update the site as the center's programs and projects develop. Ownership of the contents is subject to bylaws and practices of CDI, our constituent campuses, UNC and the State of North Carolina.
