CDI's initial research programs are based on methods for capturing data about how things move and interpreting the data through computer visualizations and dynamic 3D models.

Researchers and collaborators capture motion data through thermal imaging, high-speed videography, and tracking of markers made from lights or electronic sensors.

We record the movements of dancers, athletes, and other moving subjects. Using special software, we analyze the movements and re-interpret them for choreography, coaching, physical and occupational therapy, and animations for movies, video games, courseware, and mobile phone applications.

The results fuel new academic programs and business potentials in the health care, education, communication, transportation, entertainment, and sectors.  See more...
