HIGH-SPEED MOTION CAPTURE WORKSHOP

Location: Large Light Lab; UNCSA

Date: February 24, 2010   Time: 10:00 - 17:00

Here are 3 sample videos from the last workshop:

These video sequences were recorded at 1,000 frames per second, about 33 times faster than traditional video.  When played in slow motion, details of the movement are visible that are not apparent to the naked eye.

1. A flame thrower, simultaneously recorded with two high-speed cameras.

2. CDI's Corey Bruse smashes two glass objects.

3. UNCSA Contemporary Dance student Hannah Emerson is filmed simultaneously with two high-speed cameras. Such data allows detailed 3D reconstruction of her movement.
