In December 2010, the State of North Carolina purchased four acres of land in downtown Winston-Salem's research park. On 20 February 2012, we broke ground for construction of the future CDI building. Objects placed in a Time Capsule on the site exemplify designs of our era. Construction is now underway. CDI will move into 450 Design Avenue in the spring of 2015.
CDI sustains an environment in which diverse constituents generate, develop, and translate creative thinking to foster the growth of education, research, and commercial enterprises in and beyond our region.
CDI's collection of high-tech equipment facilitates interdisciplinary design-focused creativity, education, research, and entrepreneurial activity.
